GUG PLATFORM at Komazawa-daigaku Station on the Den-en-toshi Line (planning and production)

Client: TOKYU RAILWAYS Co., Ltd., its communications Inc.
Release: June 26, 2025

As part of the renewal project “Green UNDER GROUND,” covering five underground stations along the Den-en-toshi Line (Ikejiri-Ohashi, Sangen-jaya, Komazawa-daigaku, Sakurashinmachi, and Yoga), Flowplateaux was in charge of the planning and production of the digital signage GUG PLATFORM at Komazawa-daigaku Station.

This signage system is seamlessly connected from the platform level to the concourse and consists of three parts: CORRIDOR VISION located in the passage outside the ticket gates, STEPS VISION installed at the front of the stairs inside the gates, and RAIL VISION on the platform level.

The content is not limited to train operation information and advertisements. Drawing inspiration from Komazawa Olympic Park and the surrounding townscape, the signage aims to foster a sense of connection between the underground station space and the aboveground community.
It features around 130 original animations of various sizes and styles. These visuals shift in tone and illustration according to the local weather, seasonal transitions, and time of day, offering dynamic and engaging content throughout the station.

Notably, RAIL VISION spans approximately 90 meters along the ceiling and wall panels above the up and down train platforms. It is the first signage system in Japan to broadcast site-specific original content in sync with the surrounding environment on this scale.
